Planning Bass Fishing Trips
How
to plan
Planning is essential in any decision we make.
When
one plans, it moves them to success.
Bass-fishing
trips is no different, one must plan to have success.
Planning
fishing requires that you consider water condition, weather changes,
Stillwater change, river change, types of species and more.
Each
detail plays a part in your success, in that at certain times of
the month different species swim the waters.
Rods,
reels, clothing, flies, and waders also play a part in your fishing
trip.
Rods are important. Anglers who specialize in catching bass recommend
that you bring with you, at least two rods.
That
is, anglers tell us to bring at least two rods based on the species
you are hunting.
Bass
rods, steel rods, fly rods all play a part in the type of fishing
you intend to experience.
In
addition, anglers tell us to bring a rod kit along on the bass fishing
trip.
The
kit should contain adequate supplies to assist you in fixing your
rod at the last moment.
Reels should include the spares, as well as extra spools.
Taking
along spare lines is also a good ideal if you plan a bass fishing
trip.
In addition, take along extra leaders, floats, tippet spools, flies,
and so on.
Take a long a variety of weight and sizes to gain success on your
trip.
Lures should include flies. Pro anglers recommend that you carry
along patterns of woolly buggers, dry flies, muddlers, adult flies,
crayfish, and so on. Poppers, Texas-Rigs, Carolina-Rigs, Jigs, and
so on are optional as well.
Planning a bass fishing trip requires proper attire, waders, eyewear,
nets, vest checklists, fly, and luggage.
It
depends where you plan your fishing trip; however, you want to consider
attire. You want to take along summer, spring, fall, and winter
attire.
At least a couple of outfits based on the length of time you plan
to stay.
Don’t
forget mosquitoes hang around water; therefore take along repellants
to protect your skin.
Sunglasses
will protect your eyes, especially against cold or hot weather.
Waders are important to take along on bass fishing trips.
Waders
include three and 5-mm neoprene’s, which the attire will protect
your feet.
Waders
are waterproof boots that attach to pants and reaches over the chest
and hip. The gear is designed to protect you while fishing.
Nets are ideal for larger fish. If you try to reel in a large fish
with a rod and line alone, you may be at risk of falling into the
water.
Bass
will put up a fight, therefore take along nets to help you release
and land large bass.
Your luggage should comprise fishing gear, attire, eyewear, and
so on.
Planning
a bass fishing trip requires detail precision, especially if you
plan to catch trophy fish.
Take
along polarized sunglasses to protect your eyes, and don’t forget
your vest checklist.
Your checklist should include fishing kit, Band-Aids, compass, hooks,
strike indicators, penlight, thermometer, spares as mentioned, scissors,
pocket scale, camera, sunscreen, repellents, aspirin, measuring
gauge and so on.
Tips
On your fishing trip, you may come across feisty bass, or other
types of species.
Anglers
often battle with fish, yet it is not wise to battle until you are
short-winded. In addition, if you do not plan to feast on your catch,
release them back into the water after you take your photo.
Releasing
the fish will protect game fish, and other types of fish, i.e. they
will continue to swim the waters.
If
you catch fish without good intentions, you are only affecting our
wildlife society. Be a kind angler, and let the fish go, otherwise
plan your meal.
